On Tuesday 21st May, the Customer-Led Network Revolution (CLNR) project held its 2013 regional stakeholder forum entitled ‘Switch on to the Customer-Led Network Revolution’. You can watch a video taken on the day here.

Key members of the CLNR team from Northern Powergrid, British Gas, Durham University and National Energy Action presented the latest findings from the project, to an audience of approximately sixty delegates including; Ofgem, ENA, academic institutions and important regional stakeholders like Narec and Newcastle and Durham City Councils.

Professor Phil Taylor, the newly appointed Director of the Newcastle Institute for Research and Sustainability at Newcastle University and the academic lead on the CLNR project opened the event, which was held at the Centre for Life in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The event focused on the customer aspect of the project and covered topics like;

  • How CLNR recruited more than 12,000 domestic and business customers to take part in its on-going trials and;
  • How consumers have adapted their behaviour and energy usage in response to incentives and interventions like time of use tariffs and demand side response

We also took the opportunity to gather valuable feedback on our Northern Powergrid business plan and our low carbon outlook.
